The Milton Ulladulla U3A is part of a worldwide volunteer organisation that runs affordable courses, activities and events for retired and semi retired people.
Once a term a ‘Tea and Talk’ event is held with members and guests invited to hear an interesting talk and enjoy afternoon tea afterwards.
This Saturday, May 7 at 3pm at the Dunn Lewis Centre the U3A will present Glenn Kolomeitz on ‘Terrorism, Insurgency and the Rise of Islamic State’.
This is certainly a hot topic at the moment and many in the western world are interested in understanding the dynamics that caused the rise of ISIS.
ISIS (also known as ISIL or IS) is a Sunni militant group seeking to create its own state, governed by their interpretation of the Laws of the Quran, and to destroy all other branches of Islam as well as convert or destroy all non-Muslims.
As they've increased their numbers and acquired stronger military resources, the scale and scope of their brutality has grown, commanding the world's attention.
Glenn Kolomeitz is well qualified to speak on this topic. His extensive experience and qualifications guarantee an informative and up to date discussion of this latest threat to Middle Eastern stability and worldwide terrorist attacks.
The Milton Ulladulla U3A will hold its AGM on July 13 at 2pm at the Dunn Lewis Centre.
Come along and find out what’s happening, chat to tutors and enjoy afternoon tea.
U3A courses are run by members and reflect the skills and interests of the community and new members are always welcome.
There are many opportunities to share your knowledge and interests by volunteering to lead a group.
