Ulladulla-Milton Lions Club contributed to the training room by purchasing a specialised manikin and set of anatomical charts, which were identified as being essential to the facility.
The manikin is a Life-Form Advanced “Airway Larry” torso with defibrillation features, as well as real patient airway function, manual carotid pulse and tongue and throat swelling capability.
The local Lions Club made a donation, which was matched dollar for dollar by the Australian Lions Foundation, to fully cover the cost of these two items valued at about $5000.
Ulladulla Ambulance station officers will use the upgraded training facility regularly.
Members of the Lions club attended an official opening on May 20.
The upgrade of the training facility was supported by Bunnings, which provided the materials, and the Ulladulla Men’s Shed, who completed carpentry.
