Antony has performed throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa, visiting 131 different countries in his concert tours.
He is a regular visitor to Australia, giving concerts in capital cities and regional centres and MUM is very fortunate to have been able to book him for a recital in Ulladulla.
Everyone is invited to head along to St Martins Church on Sunday, July 30 at 2pm.
Admission is by ticket at the door. Adults are $25, pensioners are $20 and members of MUM receive a $5 discount on ticket prices.
School age children accompanied by a paying adult are admitted free of charge.
Antony began his studies at Westminster School and continued at Trinity College, Cambridge, from which he was awarded an MusB degree.
His big break came in 1971, when he won the BBC Piano Competition playing Gaspard de la Nuit by Maurice Ravel.
He received universal acclaim from the jury, including renowned pianist Vlado Perlemuter, who commented that he'd never heard the piece interpreted better. Antony also won the French Claude Debussy competition in 1972.
Following these successes, Antony became a regular concert pianist, both as a performer of concertos with major orchestras in the United Kingdom and, famously, by touring the world playing the piano - sometimes alone, and sometimes with violinist John Georgiadis, with whom he formed the Georgiadis/Peebles Duo.
He continues to perform extensively overseas and has recorded five CDs of piano music with Meridian Records.
As well as giving solo recitals he has played as a concert soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the Halle, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the City of Birmingham Symphony and many other orchestras. He broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio 3 and plays for many music societies throughout the UK.
