On June 14, representatives from Milton Ulladulla Men’s Shed attended Veolia Mulwaree Trust’s presentation ceremony at the Goulburn Workers’ Club to collect their award in the latest grant round.
Veolia Mulwaree regularly distributes a part of the profits generated from its Woodlawn waste facility near Tarago to not-for-profit organisations within the old Mulwaree Shire.
In the latest round Veolia Mulwaree Trust received 104 applications and distributed funding to 21 groups, including a number in the Milton Ulladulla area.
To date, Veolia Mulwaree Trust has provided approximately $10.4 million dollars to benevolent and community organisations located in the old Mulwaree Shire this incorporates a number of local council areas including Shoalhaven City Council.
Milton Ulladulla Men’s Shed was awarded $29,736 which will be used to part-fund a concrete apron for its new premises in Camden Street, Ulladulla.
President of the Milton Ulladulla Men’s Shed Tim Jamison described the funding boost as an enabling grant because it allows the club’s new premises to attain full occupancy certification from Shoalhaven Council, thereby securing a permanent home for members and their clients.
Mr Jamison said he estimates the new facility will be ready for the group’s 75 members near Christmas.
Mr Jamison and grants officer Barbara Evans were delighted to accept the grant payment on behalf of all the shed members who have worked tirelessly over the last two years to raise sufficient funds to build a new, permanent and purpose built premises.
Other organisations in the Milton-Ulladulla area to receive grants from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust include; Milton CWA $5,208 for heating in the CWA hall, Milton Ulladulla Model Railway Club $18,000 for the build of a museum, Jindelara Services Incorporated $1,424 for Jindelara Cottage equipment, Milton/Ulladulla Stamp Club $670 to update catalogue, Milton Pony Club $1,000 to renew fencing.
