About 6.36pm on Thursday, January 17, the Westpac LifeSaver 23 Helicopter was alerted to people caught in a rip near Bawley Point.
The three swimmers made it out of the water before a rescue crew officer was winched onto the beach to provide medical support.
The officer checked all three persons. One person swallowed water and was stabilised with medical oxygen.
NSW Ambulance was called to the incident and treated each patient at the scene. There were no critical injuries and no patients were transferred to hospital.
Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club patrol captain Adam Woodward said his club was activated for a rescue operation, but was stood down as the helicopter had arrived first.
Mr Woodward reminded swimmers to use the nine patrolled beaches in the Shoalhaven during the school holidays.
“The main thing I can’t stress enough is swim at patrolled beaches and swim between the flags,” he said.
“Never swim alone, either.”
